About
Tiago Nugent is an award-winning composer and sound designer based in Washington state. His works include music for film, animation, and games, as well as concert music. He was born in Massachusetts to a family of musicians. His father, Erik, a flute repairman and multi-instrumentalist, taught him to love music. He has since and grown to have an extensive knowledge of music of all types, as well as an intimate connection to the orchestra, having graduated from the Film Scoring Academy of Europe and studies with orchestrator Norman Ludwin. His influences range from film composers such as John Williams and Hans Zimmer to classical and contemporary composers such as John Adams, Steve Reich, Berlioz, and Beethoven. His compositional style is a mix of classical and popular music from the last century, and he often defies genres.
